In its year-end report on December 26th Canadian e-commerce company, Shopify said that 2021 was a year of strong growth for Shopify. Both the company's revenues and business have improved strongly.
Shopify has become the e-commerce platform of choice for millions of businesses worldwide.
Shopify said it now has more than 47,000 partners and millions of merchants in 175 countries. In 2021, Shopify managed to earn $4.2 billion in revenue.
Of that, the platform saw a whopping $5 billion in transactions from January to August, up 34 percent year-over-year and more than 100 percent compared to the same period in 2019.
The British fashion e-commerce company recently released its annual trend report for 2021 and predicted the fashion trends for 2022.
The "noughties" style is on fire for 2021 and will continue to lead the way for the next 12 months. Demand for '90s-style clothing, such as baggy jeans, work pants, and bright, bold colors, surged in 2021 and will continue in 2022.
Consumers are ready for Boxing Day, with 67% of 18 to 35-year-olds planning to spend an average of £119 per person on Boxing Day sales.
Gen Z and Millennials are the biggest shoppers, with three in five (67%) consumers saying spending money on jeans (45%), jackets (36%), and sneakers (36%) is their top plan.
MasterCard's "Spending Pulse" market research report said that U.S. holiday sales in 2021 will increase by 8.5% compared to last year, making it the largest annual increase in 17 years.
Analysts believe that the growth in holiday sales proves that U.S. consumers have adapted to the impact of inflation, the new crown epidemic, and supply chain issues.
eBay has turned off its image search feature in the latest update to its mobile app (iOS and Android).
The feature, which was introduced in 2017, enabled users to take photos of objects such as shoes or clothes and find items on the marketplace that highly matched the images.
eBay removed the feature this time without telling its specific reasons.
According to FlightAware, a flight tracking data company, 1,011 flights to and from the United States have been canceled and more than 2,400 flights have been delayed.
Nearly 7,700 flight delays and more than 2,500 flight cancellations have been recorded worldwide.
Major airlines have said that flights were canceled or delayed primarily because of severe staffing shortages due to the large number of employees infected with the new crown variant of the Omicron strain of the virus.
