Shopee will open Vietnam, Brazil, and other sites to Japanese sellers in the future
A few days ago, the news said that Shopee would open sites such as Vietnam to Japanese sellers in the future. At present, Shopee allows Japanese sellers to enter Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and other sites. Consumers in these markets can purchase Japanese products on the Shopee platform. Shopee plans to open sites in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Brazil to Japanese sellers in the future.
eMarketer: Esty and Wal-Mart will become the fastest-growing e-commerce platform in the United States
According to a recent report released by eMarketer, the top 15 retailers in sales will account for 72.3% of total U.S. e-commerce sales this year. Among the top 15 platforms, the top two are Etsy and Walmart. The sales of these two companies are expected to increase by 26.9% and 26.4%, respectively. And the sales growth rate of 8 of these 15 e-commerce companies will exceed the overall sales growth rate of U.S. e-commerce by 17.9% in 2021.
eBay UK announced the launch of off-site advertising
Recently, eBay UK announced it would launch an off-site advertising function, through which sellers’ products can appear in external advertisements on search engine platforms or partner websites. It is reported that the off-site advertising function will not incur additional costs for sellers, and the advertising rates are the same both inside and outside the eBay site. In addition, sellers who use the promotion list will automatically be eligible to appear on the external promotion list without taking any additional measures. Participation is not mandatory, sellers who choose not to participate are also eligible to appear in eBay’s external advertisements.
eBay will launch a new operational assessment and certification system
Recently, eBay announced that to help new sellers get familiar with listing so to sell products faster, eBay will launch a new eBay operation evaluation and certification system. The announcement states that eBay is committed to providing training services to sellers, which allows both new and old sellers to sort out the skill that they need to master systematically by the self-inspection, so they can check for missing business-related knowledge and content and improve the capabilities of operating eBay platform in a timely fashion.
Amazon denies it will accept Bitcoin as payment
July 27th, Amazon denied that the company expects to accept bitcoin payments by the end of the year and the plan of issuing cryptocurrencies in 2022. We would continue to explore cryptocurrencies, an Amazon spokesperson said, although we are interested in this area, the reports on our future plans about cryptocurrency are incorrect.
