1. eBay launches "Large Goods, Heavy Goods, and High-Quality Products Plan"

eBay provides multi-level and all-aspect support solutions for cross-border exports of large cargo and heavy cargo. It provides sellers with strong support in terms of product selection, logistics, traffic support, differentiated sales, and commercial operations. It can help cross-border sellers in exporting large cargo and heavy cargo, and also help them explore new business opportunities in exporting.

 

2. Shopify's second-quarter revenue was 1.119 billion US dollars, and GMV reached $42.2 billion

According to the financial report, the second-quarter revenue of independent platform Shopify was $1.119 billion, an increase of 57% year-on-year; as of June 30, Shopify MRR revenue was  $95.1 million, an increase of 67% year-on-year; GMV was $42.2 billion, an increase of 12.1 billion US dollars year-on-year and an increase of 40% year-on-year, hitting an all-time record high. It is reported that Shopify will soon launch the Shop Pay electronic payment service system for merchants on Google and Facebook, and is no longer limited to Shopify store owners.

 

3. U.S. multi-channel e-commerce sales are expected to increase by 18.8% in 2021

According to eMarketer, an authoritative market research company, after the multi-channel e-commerce sales in the U.S. have soared in 2020, they will continue to grow faster than non-physical store e-commerce, and occupy more and more share of the entire e-commerce market. According to Insider Intelligence’s forecasts, e-commerce sales of non-physical stores in the United States will increase by 17.2% in 2021, reaching $516.11 billion, accounting for 55.3% of total e-commerce sales. The rest of the market will be occupied by multi-channel e-commerce sales in the U.S., which is expected to grow by 18.8% by 2021, reaching US$417.18 billion.

 

4. eBay U.S. store management function upgrades

The eBay U.S. station announced that it is now upgrading the seller's store management function and introducing a number of new functions. It is reported that this update involves three aspects, including updating the store edit page, introducing a new store management function where sellers can manage multiple categories of stores on a unified page, and upgrading the real-time notification of the seller’s store, which enables better communication between sellers and buyers. eBay said that this upgrade can help sellers save time on managing stores so that they can manage eBay's business better.

 

5. Shopify begins to allow some merchants to directly sell NFT products

According to the news on July 30th, Shopify President Harley Finkelstein said a few days ago that the company currently supports its partner merchants to sell NFT products. However, Finkelstein said that the scope of application of the service is still relatively limited, and only some businesses can sell NFT products now. After that, Finkelstein introduced the NFT product, which was recently launched by the Chicago Bulls basketball team. It was created with Flow blockchain technology and launched by Dapper Labs.
