Dropshipping News Weekly Update Vol.14

Here are five pieces of dropshipping news for you to catch up with.

1. eBay: Starting from August 18th, certain categories of sports shoes must be listed with US shoe sizes

A few days ago, eBay issued a notice that from August 18th, it will require the use of American shoe sizes instead of Australian shoe sizes. This requirement applies to the publication of all items in the "men's sports shoes" and "women's sports shoes" categories. eBay will also delete the item details of Australian shoe sizes in the listing process for items in the above categories. Sellers need to update the item listing information in related categories by filling in the item details of "US Shoe Size" before August 18. In the eBay listing process, you will see that this point is determined as "needs to be completed as soon as possible."

2. Shopee issued an update notice on the logistics claim process

Shopee issued an update notice on the logistics claim process, identifying the application conditions for lost parcels:

1) Southeast Asia and Taiwan sites. After the goods are out of the SLS transshipment warehouse, there is no update (except the Singapore Economic channel) for more than 30 days after the last unfinished cargo state or the system shows that the package is missing.

2) Brazil or Mexico site. After 75 working days from the SLS transshipment warehouse, there is no completed cargo status update or the system shows that the package is missing.

In the above cases, the processing procedure for applying for a claim is that the seller sends the application materials to the customer service. The platform will complete the approval within 14 working days and notify the seller of the approval result. The seller who is confirmed to be compensated will receive the compensation within 60 working days.

3. DHL launches Saloodo, a digital logistics platform

According to the DHL Global Connectivity Index, South America is one of the least connected continents in the world, but its logistics infrastructure has been significantly improved in recent years. The launch of Salodo will become a strong force in promoting the development of e-commerce in Argentina.

4. PayPal will charge international transaction fees

PayPal has announced some changes to its user agreement. Among them, "some" commercial transactions between the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom will charge new international transaction fees. In addition, the percentage-based international transaction fees will also change. At present, PayPal has notified the upcoming changes, but the new fee schedule will not be announced until September 7. These changes will take effect from November 10, 2021.

5. USPS will apply the second time increase the postage price in 2021

The United States Postal Service announced that it will increase the postage price for the second time in 2021. On August 29, the USPS proposal to increase postage rates will be implemented in mailing services. If approved by the Postal Regulatory Commission, this will be the second proposal to increase postage rates this year, and the first proposal has taken effect on January 24. It is worth noting that package services such as First-Class Package Service and Priority Mail will be exempt from this price increase. The proposed rate hike in August 2021 will only apply to First Class Mail letters, postcards, and postal services.
